Adaptive Targeting Schemes (APV, Autoflow, PRVC, VC+…)
How APV, Autoflow, PRVC, VC+, and Volume Support behave — and how to avoid pitfalls.

Useful terminology
- APV
- Adaptive Pressure Ventilation — a pressure-limited mode where the applied pressure is controlled by the ventilator to deliver a target tidal volume set by the provider. Also known as Autoflow, VC+, and PRVC.
- Volume Support
- Pressure support with an adaptive targeting scheme — the ventilator titrates the pressure given above PEEP during inspiration to deliver a target volume set by the user.
